Thushis Creations: Elegant home decorations from textile based handicrafts
Thushis creations is a platform created by a woman entrepreneur, to fulfill the need of Home Decoration using healthy, eco friendly, and durable materials. They are exquisite CROCHET designs, unique in all aspects, hand made by women in rural Sri Lanka.
The Concept
Use of plastic/polyethylene and animal skins has never a sustainable and environmentally friendly option for home decorations and bags. We use upcycled garment waste or yarns made of fabric material instead, for the same purpose, extending the product life to a significantly longer duration, while providing a sustainable and eco friendly solution for the problem of using polythene/plastic and animal skins.
Our products are CROCHET or MACRAME, created in the hands of women. With this, we could encourage some needy students and ladies to effectively improve their skills in handicrafts and earn, to support their education and livelihood, mostly of the poor unempowered villages.
Thushis Creations has therefore been supporting the society by making eco-friendly products, and empowering the rural women, supporting education and livelihood of them.

The mastermind
The mastermind behind its success is the Designer and the owner, Thushee. Innovative and creative ideas were made into real designs in the hands of her.
Though CROCHET is not a new idea for the handicraft sector, its application to textile wastes, to make it into home decorations and handbags was an innovative and eco-friendly idea she pioneered to reality.
Her undiminished affection to the environment made it possible to replace polythene, plastic and animal leather using upcycled t-shirt yarns.
That indeed was the inception of THUSHIS CREATIONS in 2014. Ever since, she has created thousands of designs for home decorations and ladies’ accessories, to suit the unwavering demand of fashion. Now, with eight years of designs and creations behind her, Thushee can make your dream designs in CROCHET, or MACRAME into reality.
